Packard enthusiast.
From an article about Jim Hollingsworth in the June 2008 issue of "Hemmings Classic
Car..."
"It took six years of research to write Packard: 1940--A Pivotal Year," he continues. "It's all
about what was happening in the industry and with Packard. We put everything you ever
wanted to know about 1940 Packards together, and I tried to answer all of the questions
that I had when I started. I got a lot of outside help, which was most rewarding; people
have called or written me, unsolicited, when they had things they knew I'd be interested in.'
Jim chose to self-publish the book, figuring that a large publishing house wouldn't be
interested in such a niche market, but its subsequent popularity meant that Packard:
1940 is currently in its third printing."
Since the article was published the book has entered its fourth printing.
